Seismic Safety of Existing Buildings - Executive Order 12941 implements a modest program of upgrading the seismic safety of Federally owned buildings and lays the groundwork for developing a more aggressive program: a look at the standards and guidance developed by the Interagency Committee on Seismic Safety in Construction (ICSSC) to fulfill the program, focusing on their treatment of historic buildings. Session will also cover similar mitigation programs at the State and local level.
